Dear All - a message from Towse:
I knew there had to be a reason why I was keeping plastic milk carton lids!
Actually they were being used as paint palettes by my other half, but we were
getting overrun. Now I have discovered a woman in Thame who collects all sorts
of plastic tops (milk cartons, water bottles, all household plastic but just the
tops) and when they collect the weight of a small child, they can swap them for
a basic wheelchair for that child. Naturally they need a lot of tops – the day I
met her someone brought in a black bag full collected from clients by a mobile
hairdresser.
Knowing that the Plainstitch and Bee ladies are so good at collecting, I
wondered whether they might collect these for me. I will collect at the Bees and get someone else to cover for me if I am not
there.

Jackie Connors of Gone To Pieces (where Fat Quarters started) in Amersham
has organised a coach to the NEC on Friday, 7th August. It will cost £25 or
Guild members and £26 for non members. It leaves at 8am from Old Amersham. I’ve
been twice now and it is a gentle way or getting there without the stress of
driving. Cheques to Jackie payable to Gone To Pieces should be sent to 10
